Membership Participation: Donations for Rob Volz and Gregorio Griffo

Thank you to all that participated in the donation collection for Rob Volz, a Buildings & Grounds Attendant at CEC. Chuck Gibbs collected just under $2,000.00 to give to Rob, whose wife is suffering from a serious medical condition. We all know the financial stress that this can place on a family. It is encouraging to see members support a fellow member in their time of need, the true meaning of solidarity.

There is also a GiveSendGo fund that has been set up for Gregorio Griffo, a Security Guard at CEC who is suffering from a serious medical condition that requires multiple trips for medical treatment. As we all know, this can create a financial burden on the family. Please click here if you would like to donate.

We had a great turnout for the 2023 spring Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup on May 6th. Over 30 members and their families came out to help us collect more than 20 bags of garbage in less than an hour. We would like to thank the DOT Office for providing safety gear and bags and thank you to Coach’s Corner for hosting us with pizza and wings for all who participated.

Over a dozen LU 2032 members attended the St. Lawrence County Sheriffs meet and greet last month held at the USW 420 meeting hall on April 20th. There was a lot of information shared as well as some great questions asked. Thank you to all who came to show your support. Don’t forget to get out and vote on June 27th, 2023.

Look for an announcement in your email soon about a site-wide 5th Annual Local 2032 Golf Outing taking place on Saturday, August 26th at the Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club in New York Mills, NY. We hope to have participation from all three sites since it will be held on a Saturday again this year. Participation will be limited so save the date and look for registration information next month. We are just waiting for approval to use the funds from International.

We will once again ask members at STL to sell five (5) tickets for the Solidarity Parade scheduled for September 4th. They will be sent out early June. We would like each member to sell the 5 tickets and hand back the ticket stubs and money to the Union Office or your Shop Steward in the same envelope they were received. This will make it easier for us to keep track of the tickets and money. Please don’t wait until September to hand them back, we will send the proceeds back to Ron McDougal-Parade Committee Chairman, as they are sold. This is a great time to show our solidarity as a union. If you have any questions, please call the union office.
