Bob Giordano, President of the Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventuresrecently met with Bill to show his appreciation of our generous donations each year from the STL Food Drive. He and Bill discussed updates on the current projects they are undertaking in Pierpont to support wounded veterans. We would like to support them further with a workday and bring some of our members out to assist them. Please take the time to go to their website and see if there are any upcoming events that you may want to support around the area.
Our annual Adopt-A-Highway clean-up date is scheduled for May 6th, 2023, at 10:00 am. We ask members and their families to attend. Please arrive at the Twin Ponds across the road from the Rt. 131 intersection with Barnhardt Island Road a little early to sign in and receive your safety gear so that we can go over the safety guidelines. DOT will provide trash bags, hard hats, and reflective vests for safety. We encourage you to wear your NYPA safety gear- vests, gloves, and waterproof boots if you have them. We will meet at Coach’s Corner afterward around 12:00 noon for pizza and wings to show our appreciation for your service.

We are currently in the process of forming a Veteran’s Committee at Local 2032. We expect to have a committee chairman at each site. We look forward to being able to support our veterans in a meaningful way. If you would like more information about what the IBEW Veterans Committee is all about, you can look at the IBEW Veteran’s Committee Facebook page to see the type of activities they support.
Look for an announcement in your email shortly about our 5th annual site-wide Local 2032 Golf Outing taking place on July 15th at the Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club in New York Mills, NY. We hope to have participation from all three sites since it will be held on a Saturday again this year. Participation will be limited, so make sure you register early. Mark Zieman at the CEC site has graciously agreed to run the tournament again. If you have any questions, please contact the union office or Mark.
